A Dala horse is traditionally a red-painted, stylized wooden horse which is now produced mainly in Nusnäs Mora in Dalarna. Halter and harnesses are usually painted with designs in white and blue. In addition to the red before it will now also in all possible primers. Common primers during the 1900s first half were English red or red lead which sought to imitate the brown horse.

Dala Horses have been manufactured since the 1600s in Dalarna.
